About Thistle Heritage Services:

Established in 2000, Thistle Heritage Services is run by Jack Davis. Jack is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, with 30 years of service in the Mitchell Library, Glasgow, working in cataloguing and local history, including six years in the library’s Family History Room. He has also worked as a curator on a local history website, TheGlasgowStory. In addition to family history research, cataloguing services are available, with MARC records provided to full standards, using Anglo American Cataloguing Rules, Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress Subject Headings, MARC21 or UKMARC formats.

Area covered:
While enquiries relating to Scotland as a whole are welcome, Thistle Heritage Services specialises in the west and south west of Scotland, in particular the pre-1975 counties of Lanarkshire (including City of Glasgow), Renfrewshire, Dunbartonshire, Ayrshire, Argyll, Bute, Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire.
